We were having a surprise, and it was Whipsnade Zoo! This time, our friend Katie came with us too!
I’m really really REALLY into animals, so I love zoos and seeing animals – even if it isn’t in a zoo! So Whipsnade Zoo is just the place for me 😉
First we saw some bears. We threw them fruit and vegetables, and when we went there was two to three bears, lots of fruit too. When we came back, Wendy the bear was fatter than Paddy, and Paul was thin, and ALL the fruit was gone! Utterly gone! Last time we saw the bears it was horrible, but this time it was fine.
Then we saw some lemurs. We missed the lemur talk though 🙁 We saw ones that were totally white, totally brown and a few white all over with brown ears and brown striped tails. One of them (who obviously wasn’t very well trained) jumped onto a banister and landed on a women’s head – sprang off and over the gate!
We saw the sealion show – Sealion Splash – and the Elephant Show – Eager Elephant – and we tried to spot wolves. Katie’s favourite animal is wolves, and she, Chris, Tilly or mummy couldn’t spot any of them (which I thought was weird) and I saw four.
In the middle we went to have lunch in the Hullabazoo Playground. We had tomatoes, cucumber, bread and a snack of cheese (don’t say we’re peasants, please, I’ve heard enough already).
In the Hullabazoo Playground there was L-O-T-S lots of kids from the school trip, and the playground was full head-to-toe with people. Queues formed by every slide there, adults hurried to pick up children and toddlers, little ones were always falling over their big brothers and sisters and cried, older ones barged and screamed…oh, blimy, how packed it was! I got knocked by a twelve-year-old kid, Tilly was imprisoned by teenage boys and girls – Katie was crying about a boy who kicked her and blablablablabla….Oh bloomin’ god save me from talking about this….ahhhh!
The school children went at 2:00pm and we stayed till 5:30pm and so I was (fashionably) late for my Brownies party because Mummy and Chris were distracted because of 1. talking 2. a peacock wandering around. That meant we had the playground all to ourselves for the whole afternoon!
I went to my party and Tilly went to Katie’s house for another 5 nights. In my next post I’ll tell you about being another only child! (Yippee…)
