As you might already know since my ‘Is This Santa the Real one?’ post…actually it may not be published yet, so I might as well explain. Me and Tilly and Mummy went to this Christmas Fair thing on the way back from taking William to school. We went to see Santa – not the real one, since he couldn’t really answer my questions. I asked him how many elves he had and he just said ‘lots and lots – about 140’. I asked him when he was born, and the answer came ‘a long, long time ago.’ He asked me if I’d been a good girl or not, and I said, “What do you mean? You should know that – you’re Santa Claus!” Hmph. I don’t think he was the real Santa at all!
We also saw some reindeers. If I tell you the names of them, I bet you’re going to recognise them (not the reindeer – if you recognised the reindeer, that would be fantastic – but I bet you you’ll recognise the names)! There was Anna…ring a bell? Now I bet this one’s a BIG clue, especially since we’ve already said Anna. The other was called Elsa! Notice? F-r-o-z…kay, I’m not saying anymore!
If you haven’t watched it, it’s called Frozen. Most little girls LOVE it, which I do…I suppose. It includes the Snow Queen (not the book, but this film was basically a rip-off of the book…) which is Elsa, and her sister, Anna. I think the best bit was at the end when Anna punched Hans in the face (this is why girls rule: Hans was a total moron)!
Anyway, this Christmas Fair wasn’t about Frozen at all, so let’s get on with it. There were reindeer, like I’ve explained – Elsa and Anna – but the one thing I didn’t like about the reindeer was the way they kept them. They’d probably been travelling a long way in a hot and rather unwelcoming truck, and the pen they were in was quite tiny. Elsa kept putting her feet in the water bucket and stomping around she was so unhappy, but Anna – my word! – Anna was trying to get out of the pen (which was so tiny I’ll call it a cage)! She was pawing the bars, going on her hind legs and putting her shaking arms out of the barrier; she was SO unhappy! The man who owned the reindeer came and put Elsa on a lead. For a long, suffering time she was struggling in the pain of the lead’s tightness and the fact that the the man was holding her back with her antlers and everything else. We came back to the poor things about an hour later and Elsa was STILL on that lead! Inside, there were reindeer heads on the walls – real ones! People had just chopped off reindeers’ heads and put them on for just ‘Christmassy’ decorations!
The main part was meeting the (fake) Santa in his cool Santtery Grotto. He gave us presents and things (we haven’t opened them yet because it’s not Christmas) and we really enjoyed it, even though I was expecting we could go in his sleigh 🙁
We looked at some stalls for a very long time. Then we found a nice lady selling chocolate buttons, but instead of normal ones they were flavoured ones. She had lemon and lime (all in one), caramel, strawberry and orange. We got some of the lemon and lime ones and some orange ones. Tilly didn’t really like the lemon and lime ones, so we let her keep the orange packet for herself.
We also came across a lady selling bracelets. She had Frozen ones, normal ones with pretty patterns and ones with letter charms. The colour of the beads on ‘T’ was dark pink (I think) and on ‘L’ it was a lighter pink (again I think). I really liked them and decided to get some ideas in my head so that we can make some. I mainly liked the blue and green and teal ones. My favourite colour’s teal or green or blue 😉 And guess what? The price was about £8 for one bracelet!
