We went to Eden Project, a place where you learn about nature and things. We went in the Rainforest section first.  I seem to remember that big leaves are in the Rainforest so that water runs down their stems and helps them grow so that they can protect the ground from light and heat from the sun. This means that Rainforest-Villagers won’t be too hot and the brightness won’t be too bright for them to see, as there are piranhas in rivers and you don’t want to be eaten by one of them or struck by an electric eel!

Did you know that you can get birds called either Lauren-Laurens or Roule-Roules. I can’t remember which – but they were in that sort! We saw pretty waterfalls and took pictures of them. We went in cool Rainforest-Village huts and we saw patterned and hand-made kettles and pots and vases.

We also went in a Mediterranean section. It was very pretty – leaves and waterfalls everywhere – a bit like the Rainforest bit, but there were more flowers and more water. I liked the bit where I was just standing right in front of a huge leafy tree with fruits and flowers around it.

There were orange, pink, purple, green and yellow flowers and probably many, many more. I liked this pretty flower which drooped to the left and it was red-purple colour. I also liked the orange ones, where the petals were arranged straight outwards like tiny sunflowers. But the best bit – the real best bit – was the waterfalls.

There were many, many waterfalls. The water splashed the leaves and dewdrops hung on them. It bounced on rocks and spitted all over the rocky floor beneath it. The dewdrops grew big on the rocky land and white glittery bits of water floated around in the air. Green leaves fell in front of the water occasionally, and breezes flew around you…

Well, that’s why I liked the waterfalls.

I took a picture and ran to see the next waterfall. Leaves fell onto my head as I ran and rivers patterned around me. I couldn’t find another pretty waterfall and no sign of one. I joined back up with the rest of the family, and went to see this wooden throne. I sat on it sternly and stared straight at a dewdrop. Click! a photo came from Daddy’s iPad. Click! Another. Click! Click! Click! I swapped over with Tilly and went to enjoy the leafiness. (That was a weird time to say that, but yes – in my world, ‘leafiness’ is a word).
