Today we went swimming…or at least we tried to. But of course, as your probably know already, it is the Easter Holidays, so there was a big, long queue. That meant that we were already standing in it for twenty minutes until Matilda and Katie turned up (Matilda was having a sleepover). When they finally came, we had to go to the back of the queue again so that we wouldn’t have to wait for them when they came back in. The trouble was, they were letting sixty people in and sixty people out, and those people were only allowed in for an hour and a half 🙁
So instead we went to a sandy park with sand and obstacles and more sand and slides and more sand but not more obstacles and slides – just more sand. Anyway, we wondered around in our swimsuits and shorts (only Matilda wore shorts, though) and buried our legs and dug huge holes. A girl asked us if she could play too, but she turned out to be quite mean and not very nice. For instance, Katie dug up two HUGE holes, and the girl filled them back up again and said, “So? Why would I care? Anyway, it’s her hole, not mine, so I don’t care and why should I?” Which was very mean and evantually we basically told her that we didn’t want to play with her again.
Then we went to check on the swimming pool. It still had a huge queue. So we went to a different park, where we wrecked and built dens and played games and went on zipwires with strange people from the Unknown who made it that whoever had been waiting longer would go at the back. Anyway, a girl there asked us to play, and we said yes, but she turned out ot be nicer than the other girl just MUCH MORE bossy.
