Brownies Fun Day

Today I went to a fun day out with Brownies. Guides also came, so Tilly was there with me – and her friends. Unfortunately, I, as a Brownie, had to go round with my friend at Brownies. It was okay though, as my friend’s nice, but I was hoping that her and I could go in with Tilly.

Firstly, we went on a big coach, where I sat with Caitlin (my friend) and Tilly. Me and Tilly had little smiley faces drawn on the seats in front of us, which was lucky, and Tilly called them ‘Lucky Omens’. Unfortunately, Caitlin didn’t have one, and her water bottle leaked everywhere, soaking her lunch-bag, dripping onto the coach floor and her Brownies trousers. Luckily when we got there, there was two huge water containers to fill up Caitlin’s empty bottle!

Once we were all off, we had a big disco (which wasn’t the best as I had no exact idea what on earth we were doing and what pointless games we were playing and also the songs were really rubbish, but still). We also went in a little giftshop and I bought a little Brownie-bead keyring for £1.50. Squirrel (my Brownie leader’s pretend name) bought us all ice-creams. I had an orange clippo-thing, and Tilly had a big Mr Whippy.

There was ‘Crazy Golf’ where you had a golf ball and a bat and you had to hit the golf ball through these little courses and into the holes at the very back. One was where you had to bat the ball straight over a curved plastic thing that went right through the thing. A girl showed me how to do it and then I used her go as mine 😉

Now. Zorbing was the main thing I was really looking forward to, until I realised how horrible it was. You’re in a big, inflatable ball (though you’re in a tube in the ball), straps over your shoulders and two straps for you to hold onto. I climbed into one, and then started heading round the course. Basically, you have to try not to get hit, and bang your ball into other people. You’re meant to it quite gently, so that the other person won’t get hurt. But these horrible idiots (apart from me and Caitlin) banged so hard into me I kept collapsing in my ball – almost over the track that outlined the course. Me and Caitlin shouted and sceamed at them, telling them off, but they never seemed to listen. I know that they definitely heard it, because I heard Caitlin shouting to someone once, saying, “Stop it! Go away! This hurts! STOP!” and this girl (who had been mean to me too) charged into poor Caitlin, almost, like me, knocking her off the course boundries!

We went on some bouncy castles too. There were huge infatable things – slides, pillow-bashing (though I didn’t do pillow-bashing) and smaller ones, too, with little bouncy castles and then slides coming off them. It was great!
