I am sorry that I haven’t been on my website here for quite a long time, but I have been so busy that I have had no time – and I mean no time whatsoever! Honestly, mainly every single day has had fun stuff piled into it; and if not, it is always packed with fun work or – even better than going out and doing fun work all together – staying in and writing stories! But on this post I will tell you everything about what I have been doing since I recently never wrote on here 😉
At our usual club, we did what’s known as felting. Me and one of my best friends Niamh did it together. It was really fun – but very hard! You had to do base felts and things, and then cover it in soap and water and then try to do everything properly and it’s so hard! But it’s ultra fun, too, and you get a picture at the end – though we had to put it in the washing machine at the end ‘to make it stay together more’ – you would think it’d pull it apart!
I made a new friend called Grace. She’s really nice, and I think that I’m super lucky. Do you know why? Well, you’d never know, because you have no idea how much I love writing stories and spelling and grammar, punctuation, pointing out mistakes and going bananas if ever I find one! Well, I’m ‘super lucky’ because Grace loves writing stories too, and we both share our love of spelling and grammar, punctuation, pointing out mistakes and going bananas if ever we find one! We are now writing a series of stories; hers called ‘Golden Bluebells’ and mine ‘The Violet Sun’. Like me, she likes emailing too. After this, I’ll reply to her new one 😉
Tilly’s friend Sadie came over too. Mummy and Andy say that I have been a very good girl, because I have had to sleep in Tilly’s spidery room when I am used to sleeping on my nice bed. It isn’t very nice, either, being reminded of them fiddling with my lamp and probably breaking the springs in my bed, but I think I can put up with that. I also had to go to sleep while they were giggling next door, talking about boys and other teenagy stuff when they have just been told to be quiet 😉
It was also very hard for me to know that they would be staying up late watching loud and noisy films right on the other side of the wall, but I tried to block out all of their loud, disruptive giggling ways, so soon – that is, at about 9:30 – I fell asleep. Actually, I think that she is quite nice and I am pleased that Tilly has had sleepovers with her. Mummy says that it is a good oppurtunity to show those teenagers, and Mummy and Andy, what a good girl I can be – especially when it’s so close to my birthday!
We also went the cinema. I watched ‘Dolphin’s Tale 2’. It is really, really good – and sad, and happy. I neally cried! It was super good though. I won’t spoil it, though, because you might watch it, and knowing what is to happen is as bad as not reading the book before watching the film! (But Dolphin’s Tale 2 ‘ain’t ‘ave no book, init’?). We got to go there for free because it was a school trip, and we chose to sit at the back. Sadie and Grace watched it with us, too. It was funny because the schoolkids kept having to go to the loo, so the teacher couldn’t watch the film as, for some reason, the kids couldn’t go to the loo by themselves.
Story Mode
We wanted to make a display for Christmas – but we wanted it to be a really good one, though. “Why don’t we cover everything with paper snowflakes?” Tilly suggested. But it wasn’t fancy enough. We decided to get a tray and fill it with fake snow and little clay characters.
“Do you want to do the clay first, or the snow?” Mummy asked. “Of course, we don’t have to do it now – we haven’t even got the tray! Shall we get it today, or Saturday?”
“Saturday,” me and Tilly murmured, rubbing our eyes.
So, though I think we forgot, so it wasn’t on Saturday, we got a tray. We filled it with cool, fake snow. Then we designed some awesome clay characters with FIMO clay. Then we put them in the oven and decorated the snowy tray with them. We are now superduper pleased with our work!
We did lots of work too. We did a project on Italy from our Eat Around the World project. Everyone did a presentation on the amazing country. We also started doing Medieval History; learning about the monks and things. I liked doing the Romans, too, which we finished. I got a new maths book as well that I work in – along with…some brilliant crayons! They have all different shades of hair colour, cheek colour, and skin colour. But be warned: if you do it all in one of these crayons – well, three, if you’re doing skin, cheek and hair – the picture will be awful. If you do with all of them, with shades and things, it will be great – just like the ones me and Tilly did!
Latin deserves a whole new paragraph. That’s all I’m saying.
In Latin, we have got to the hard Ablative Case. It is the hardest thing in the World. And I don’t mean to use a boring expression that commoners use – not personally, Commoners – I do actually mean it. It isn’t a boring expression – it’s a true thing that goes up my speaking system of speakiness and out of my fingers, which are typing this this very second. And are hurting my wrist.
Anyway – this hard case is actually the hardest thing on Earth. You don’t know if it’s ‘casam’, ‘casīs’, ‘casā’ or ‘casās’. Even then, there are different Latin words than those ones. Then you have to put the words in the right order, which I still haven’t caught up with yet. But I’m pleased I know Latin. Blahblahblah. No, really.
“But Lavinia,” you ask, “we want to know what educational, fun, other things that you’ve been learning.”
“Hmm…” I say; “yes. I’ve been watching Merlin – a brilliant TV series about a twenty-year-old-wizard and his adventures. My favourite character is a cross between Arthur, Guinevere and Morgana. We’ve also been at an amazing Halloween disco with cool songs and dance certificates. But the best was trick-or-treating. That was so cool and amazing that nobody could have a better one. We got so mmmaaannnyyy sweets. And we made an amazing Halloween display at home 🙂
We had a walk in the woods, too. That was awesome as well. You can see how nice and warm it was from the fact we’re all going without coats. It was a lovely day!
Now, I better be off! Heh heh! I will be back sssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnn!”
