Sleepover Party!

It was Grace’s birthday recently! On the day before it, we went to hers in our best party clothes ready for a sleepover! It was very exciting. When we got there, Grace’s sisters Eve and Annie were there and her other best friends Lily and Nicole. They’re all super nice and fun to play with. First we went upstairs and played Spin the Polish, which is this awesome game including, as you guessed, nail varnish. Grace picked a bottle of nail varnish and put in the middle. Then she spun the die. Say it landed on three (or any number; three is just an example), and then lay down the varnish and spun the bottle. Let’s say it landed on Nicole. Grace would then paint three of Nicole’s nails the varnish colour. We kept playing until everyone had completed their nails. My nails actually settled down in quite nice colours. On my left hand, my pinky, wedding ring finger, middle finger, and pointy finger was purple. My thumb was then a suttle green. On my right hand, my pinky, wedding ring finger, middle finger, and pointy finger was a delightful pink. My thumb was the same suttle green. If I bent my fingers and thumb into a claw shape on each hand and pressed them together, it looked like I had a grape on one hand and a raspberry on the other! (Later on, as I will tell you, I painted over a sparkly overcoat to make the colours shimmer with sparkles.)

Then we all went down for pizza, hot chocolate, and a film. The film was called House of Magic. It was very funny and recommended! It was all about a stray kitten and a kind of ‘cuckoo crazy’ old magician. My favourite character was the magician man; even though, I think, the cat was meant to be the main character. . . I don’t know why, but I always seem to like the second main character more than the first. What kind of an oddball am I?

Then, after a delicious dinner and hot chocolate (thank you Ruth and Richard!) we went off to bed. I slept on the blow-up bed with a sleeping bag, pillow that reminded me of home (oddball…), and my teddy bear; Evie with all her cuddly toys on her bed (bottom bunk); Tilly with her duvet and things and blah blah blah (I’m going to stop the possessions now) on the top bunk; Annie in her mum’s room; Gracie on her mattress on the floor; Lily doing tops-and-tails with Gracie; and finally, Nicole on a comfy mat on the floor with a duvet. That’s…yep, seven. A lot of children!

It took us a long time to get to sleep :/ First Evie dropped off at around ten, then came Lily at about half ten, then Gracie at about eleven, and then Tilly maybe at quarter past..and then Nicole and I were stuck for forty-five minutes whispering and exchanging bored glances to each other, indicating how annoying it was not being able to sleep. And then, at midnight, we both tried the same listening-to-the-clock-ticking technique together, and dropped off at the same time.

In the morning, we polished a sparkly overcoat ontop of our nails. Then we went down for a delicious fryup, which was, as I say, DELICIOUS! Thank you, Ruth & Richard! And the decorations for Gracie’s birthday were unbelievable! So were the presents xx ! xx

We played games of Musical Bumps, Sleeping Beauties, Musical Thrones and things. Then we had a truly tasty! lunch with sandwiches, olives, cheesecakes, jelly, cake to take home, crisps, and a bunch full of deliciousness!

I was terrifically sad when I had to go home ;(

Happy birthday Gracie, and thank you Ruth & Richard!
