For our usual Thursday club, I decided to make my own business. It’s called Lavinia’s Little Learners, or LLL. I teach the little ones how to read, write, and spell, and maybe tell them a few short poems for them to be able to memorise. Andy gave me his conference folder for the organisations and plans, with a notepad, pen-holder, and some little slots for business cards (so far I have Andy’s, but that’s pretty much it). I immediately and very excitedly wrote down and printed off some activities and notes and put them into the bigger compartment.
On Thursday, I rounded up the little children who had signed and paid to come (£1 for half an hour per child) and then I read them a few stories, and – bang! All of the time had suddenly disappeared before I had time to do any of the activities! Next time, I’ll do the activities quick as a snap, getting them to write and think of stories. There were about ten people who arrived up at the hill where it took place, but only three were still there at the end..
I really hope it goes better next week; I’ll do more activities and read more stories and things, for it’ll be more organised by then.
That day was a Science Day, where a lady came and taught us about chemicals and reactions and things. There were games, too, and I really wanted to play HotWires, but the batteries were missing 🙁
