A Long Day Out!

Yesterday we went to the cinema again! This time we were watching the new film of The BFG. I thought it was really well acted and I liked how Sophie was a real person, but the giants and most of the rest of the cast were cartoon figures. Almost all of the cinema was empty until a very large school group arrived and filled up quite a lot of spaces. We got to move up to the top seats, which are barred off from the lower decking, are also very roomy and are made of pale leather!

Then we went to our favourite lunch shop, IKEA, for lunch! All of us got fish and chips, because their fish is delicious – and I got their brilliant loganberry red sauce, which nobody else likes, so I can have loads of it!

We walked around the showrooms and pretended that the shower was the telephone. We made a video of me saying, “Brrring! Brrring, brrring! … I have told you time and time again that this is not the telephone, it is the shower! With kind regards, do not ring again!”

After that, we went to the shopping centre and looked at all the clothes. In Next, I found a load of expensive, fluffy dressing gowns! One of them was dark blue velvet on the outside, and a sort of creamy sheep fur on the inside. We always looked at loads and loads of stuff and never bought anything because… what’s up soon? Boxing Day sales!

Finally, we looked round Costco for a bit before having dinner there. Usually there are these big, huge bears, but this time there were ones three times as big – and they looked so uncomfortable! Each one was strewn over the floor, and most of them were all shoved into this wooden enclosure, all pushed on top of one another. So Tilly and I, with amazing difficulty, hauled the four bears’ heads upright, and heaved their legs up to a sitting position. Then we named them ‘Armadillo’, ‘Penguin’, ‘Buddy’, and ‘Hubert’. I had an entire chicken bake for dinner, and I have done nothing but eat for the past two weeks, apparently.

I loved today and am looking forward for an IKEA Day in the showrooms!
