Yesterday, we went to a nearby church to watch our friend Seth getting confirmed. Apparently that is when God accepts you properly as a Christian, but to be quite honest I don’t really understand 😉 We went there reasonably late at night, and we all sat down and watched the bishop and the priest talk about how important it was to get confirmed and things. Then Seth and fifteen other people got up and all of them were confirmed by the bishop. We all stood up and sang some psalms and hymns and then all the friends and family got up and were blessed by the bishop. Tilly, William and I went up, and we put our hands by our sides and the bishop touched our heads and blessed us. To be frank I thought it was quite fascinating 😉
But one of the things I thought was actually rather funny was when the bishop put up his hand to hold up his sceptre-thing, and his sleeve fell down a bit, revealing his… Fitness Band! I was the only one to see, but I did see Nicola looking a bit confused when he hastily pulled his sleeve to his wrist and put his arm down! (A Fitness Band – also known as a Fitness Watch, a Mii Band, etc. – is like a watch that tracks your steps, sleep, and all that sort of thing!)
At the end, we all went into a big room to get refreshments (aka a load of cake and crisps). I don’t really know what William and Seth were doing but by the looks of things they were having a competition to see who could eat the most Pringles in one go. Us ladies were much more dignified! 😉 One of the nice ladies there had made a scrumptious fruit cake, but we couldn’t manage it all, so secretly, Mummy wrapped some slices up in tissue jumper and stuffed them inside the jumper I was carrying! Of course, running through the graveyard with smuggled cake isn’t exactly the best thing to be doing, but I think if it’s in a jumper, who will notice? So we legged it, coming back home at quarter to ten pm!
