5 – 11 June 2017
On Monday, again, we went to our swimming lessons. We did some more breaststoke, just to master it completely, which was fun but also very exhausting! After swimming, our friends Seth, Matilda and Arthur, as well as Grace and Eve, came round to our house to play for a bit. Outside in the garden we played things like tag and so on, and then we watched the Japanese Women of Ninja Warrior. Seth, Matilda and Arthur had dinner with us, but Grace and Eve were having dinner with their grandma, so they had to leave a bit earlier. When everyone had left, at about quarter past seven, we went to Guides. On Saturday we’re having a sort of carnival-type-thing for the Guides, the theme being Chitti Chitti Bang Bang, so we started making props and costumes for that.
On Tuesday, we went to a trampoline park! It was really fun. Seth, Matilda, Arthur, Lillian and her brother Nathan were there, so we all went about playing these really fun games. At one point, a staff member came along to help us, and we all had difficulty trying to knock him off the balance beam! We had to be dragged out at the end, for obvious reasons 😉
On Wednesday, we did some work in the morning, and in the evening saw our friend Seth get confirmed in church. I’ve done a post HERE. I also wrote a letter on Wednesday to a nice man and lady called Bob and Dee, who have been sending me clocks for free! If you read my website often, you will probably know my hobby of collecting clocks, and here they all are:
On Thursday, the election day, we walked down to the Polling Station and Andy let me tick the box for him. He voted for the Monster Raving Loony Party because all the other parties are absolute rubbish. We don’t want Korbyn keeping us in the EU and taking away Nanny’s bus pass (wink wink), but our local candidate was a horrible, horrible woman, so Monster Ravers, here we come!
In the afternoon, we went to our filmmaking club. A new person called Jack was there, as he didn’t make it last week. We had loads of fun! Currently, the film is about a caterpillar called Derek who can only eat cake, and a koala bear called Brandy who REALLY wants the cake…
On Friday, we went to our drama group again. It was really fun! I’m doing The Winner Takes It All, probably with someone else, and I may or may not have to lip-sink the high bit where she holds it for ages! XD At the end we went home and had a delicious lunch, and then Nanny came round for a bit to play.
On Saturday – well! We went for our carnival thing, and Tilly got all dressed up in a wedding dress as Truly Scrumptious, from Chitti Chitti Bang Bang!
I was the clockwork ragg-doll. We paraded along the streets and then stayed at the end for fish’n’chips and a look at the stalls.
At one point, in the main arena, The Crazy Fire-Man Joseph came along and started doing tricks with fire. I volunteered and was chosen to go and sit at the stall that did all the electronic-y things and helped with the show a bit.
One of his tricks was that he went on the back of the truck strapped inside a spinning ball on fire, and his accomplice Carrie drove the truck while he was spinning the fire. Suddenly, he started shouting, ‘CARRIE! FIRST GEAR! NOT THIRD! FIRST! SLOW DOWN! CARRIE! SLOW DOWN! FIRST GEAAAAAR!’ And roaring at the top of his voice. At first I thought it was all part of a joke, part of the show, etc., but apparently not, for she hurtled the truck straight into the single rope that separated the audience, nearly hit three children including a two-year-old, and drove straight into the edge of the tent I was sitting in, so that I screamed and got off my chair and ran to the back of the tent! It was TERRIFYING! The type of terrifying where you think you’re going to be run over by a burning truck and then get sizzled to death in a spinning ball of fire! I screamed and screamed and it was absolutely terrifying!! I heard this woman complaining a moment later about how she thought her two-year-old and five-year-old were going to get run over! Luckily, nobody got hurt, and they managed to stop the truck. Apparently, it was Carrie’s first time being his accomplice and I don’t think she’s going to get a second time 😉
But yes, that was very scary! Anyway, afterwards I went and got a pony ride in the hope it would calm me down a little bit, but it wasn’t very good so we had a go on the Waltzer as well. We kept screaming, ‘FASTER! FASTER! WAAAAAAARGH!’ And then, when it didn’t work, I called out at full volume, ‘FASTER! LIKE THE FIRE WOMAN WHO NEARLY RAN ME OVER FAST!!’ And that worked because the man thought it was funny, so he let us go a bit faster!
On Sunday, we went to the cinema to see the new Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson. It was really good! We went by ourselves, surviving on a packet of sweeties 😉 When it finished, we went home for lunch and then came back out again to go to our friend Eve’s birthday party! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! We gave her her presents and cards, and inside mine I wrote on the left:
A good friend
Is hard to find,
Hard to lose,
And impossible
To forget.
ANON.
Eve had all her other friends round as well, and there were mounds of cake and sandwiches and biscuits and it was AWESOME!!
We played some party games and their dad, Richard, got out the candyfloss machine and started whirring candyfloss. I had a stick of some and it was really tasty! Their mum, Ruth, had made some delicious lime jelly, which I gobbled up most of! It was so tasty! We played on the trampoline too, and walked the tight-rope and fed the cardboard lions 😉 When we got home, it was about seven o’clock at night!
