17 – 23 July
This Monday, we had another science day at the university in Luton.
On Tuesday, I went to a Latin class. We went to a friend’s house to do it with ten children including us. The teacher, Hazel, is really nice, and it’s a nice lesson, but sometimes it can get a little bit slow and easy for me. We’re thinking I might go up to the older class with Tilly but we’re not sure.
On Wednesday this week, I had a special Mummy-and-Lavinia day out shopping and saw Alice in Wonderland at the theatre!
The older class for Latin is on Thursday, but when we drove Tilly up to it there was a big crash on the motorway and the road we needed to go on was closed. If we did go the other route we’d probably turn up half-way through the lesson and there wasn’t much point in that. So we went back home, skipped Tilly’s lesson, and had lunch. After lunch, we went to our filmmaking group, where we filmed the actual characters in front of the green screen. However we didn’t get much done so we’re having another lesson in August.
On Friday, it was our drama show! We’ve been doing our Abba and Michael Jackson songs over and over at home and we were very excited to do it on stage! We couldn’t go to the actual theatre to do it though, because no one could make it on that date, but we did it in the building where we’d made the dances and it went brilliantly. My favourites were Waterloo and Blame it on the Boogie.
And on Saturday this week, Tilly and I went to meet up with Daddy! It was the first time we’d seen him in over two years so we were very excited and a bit nervous! We met him at the train station about half an hour from our house. We walked down to the shops and he bought us some sweets from the Olde Sweet Shoppe and I (being rather an old oddball) got anniseed balls with my bonbons XD Sadly, it rained the whole day through, and none of us had any idea where we were or where we were going, so we walked round the town centre, ate sweets, chatted in the coffee shop, and so on.
On Tuesday next week, we’re going on Guides Camp! So on Sunday this week we had to pack for it. We spent the WHOLE day packing we had a quick trip to the shopping centre to buy groundsheets, Mummy had a bit of a panic that I didn’t have the right shoes, and so on. It wasn’t the highlight of the week, but it got you very excited and now we can’t wait until Tuesday!
