28 August – 3 September
Monday
This morning we went to Wrest Park for a little ‘stroll’. It’s actually very inspirational; Tilly and I spent the whole time planning how to make a Wrest Park on Minecraft! You see, it can be educational on the computer.
Tuesday
On Tuesday it was… Matilda’s birthday! I wrote her a long letter for her birthday which she can keep forever (we do this every year for everyone’s birthday). Elodie, Lucia, and Dominique came round in the morning, and we met Tilly’s other friends Charlotte and Eleanor at the train station. We all took the train to a trampoline park called ‘Jump’, where we met Lillian, Nathan, Arthur and Matilda (Seth couldn’t come that day). We JUMPED and BOUNCED for two hours! It was really fun. I did a ‘routine on the trampoline’ with Elodie, Dommy and Chi, and it was so much fun! I learnt how to do a weird flippy-pushy-weird-thing on the trampoline. Basically you have to run down one of the rows of trampolines, and at the end where there’s a wall made out of a trampoline, you have to take your feet off the floor and put your hands on the trampoline-wall – then you have to straighten out your legs, and because it’s a trampoline, your hands spring off, and you have to land on your feet on the floor again! It’s really difficult, but really fun when you learn how to do it!
After our two hours of trampolining (wowee) Didi, Chia, Dom, Charlotte, Eleanor, and, of course, us, got the train home. Well no, it wasn’t that easy; the train said it was delayed for forty minutes due to a trespass on track. One, this was bad because it was Tilly’s birthday and she didn’t want to be hanging around at the train station; two, Mummy had eight children with her (including William, who was with us) that were very hungry and bored; and three, Andy was at home with a barbeque ready, which was cooking for way too long! And what was worse, forty minutes later, the board simply said ‘the train is delayed’, and didn’t say when it would be due, where it was then, or anything else. As it turned out, we waited two hours before the train got to the station; Tilly had to wait two hours on her birthday at the train station; and the barbeque was cooked for two hours longer than it was meant to. But luckily, it wasn’t anyone’s fault – well, maybe the trespasser’s – and Mummy said we were all very good while we waited, even though it was four when we got back and nobody had eaten lunch.
When we got back home, we all had a bit of a disco and lots of fun! Andy had made a slightly crisper than average BBQ, but it wasn’t black. 😉 We ate it all – as you do – and then Mummy got out a platter of cucumber and pepper and so on, and a platter of… sweeeeeeeetieeeeeees! However they were all gone very quickly 😉 We made a human pyramid – which succeeded only towards the very end of the day – and had a disco, a copy-me dance, sports day activies, and so on. It was so much fun!
Wednesday
Today we didn’t really do much; a little work, designed our Minecraft garden, and so we built a little of it. You must be wandering what this is; basically we went to Wrest Park, got a load of inspiration for building a National Trust/English Heritage site on Minecraft, drew a grid (each square one Minecraft block) and designed a garden on it. Last night we transferred it onto Minecraft – mine’s going to be called Twinson Park after the town that it’s situated in! 🙂
Thursday
Today we went to Rushmere Country Park with Myrren (whose 10th birthday it was), Jasper, some people called Joseph, Hope, and Felix, and some more called Marianne and Christopher, and Myrren’s friend. Again (XD) we built a den in the forest, which proved to be exactly the same as the last one just in a different spot. We played ‘half-serious-half-not-serious-wars’ with some other people; basically a little girl came running and asked if she could play with us; we said yes, and asked her what was wrong; she said her cousins and another boy were being horrible. We went over and they were teasing her about the type of trainers she was wearing; teasing her about her phobia of bugs by picking up rotten sticks and waving the woodlice at her; telling her that the ‘Slenderman’ (whoever that is) was going to haunt her in the night, and generally being really mean. I’m not sure how to spell it, but her name was pronounced Shay-luh, and at first I thought it was Sheila, so I said, ‘Sheila, would you like to come with us?’ And one of her cousins said, ‘Sheila? Sheila? It’s Shayla! Sheila? Sorry hun, not quite right but close!’ And then they all doubled over in laughter. They proved to be rather horrible, so Sheila-Shayla played with us for the rest of the day. Myrren and the mums and I went on a walk towards the end, but then we had to go after that. 🙁
Friday
Today little Matilda came round in the morning and we took her to drama. William came this time too because Andy was on a meeting in London, so he couldn’t be home alone for four and a half hours.. We started off with drama, then singing, and then dance. In drama we went off in little groups doing our own mimes. I was in a group with Tilly, Dillon, Deon, Sean, and Sam. At the end of the little show you had to guess the ’emotion’ in it; ours was envy. We used two fluffy legwarmers as cats. I was a photo-shoot person, and Dillon and Tilly were celebrities. Deon and Sam were basically tramps who wanted to buy the cats but didn’t have enough money. Sean was the owner of the cats, and kicked them out; however when Dillon and Tilly bought them they had LOTS of money, so he let them have them. I was busy taking photos of the two celebrities; and they soon fell asleep with their cats. All out of envy, Deon and Sam came on
Saturday
On Saturday it was my friend Myrren’s party! It was so much fun. It was after lunch, but they had loads of food there so it was fine! XD It was Robin Hood-themed, so Myrren was Robin Hood, I was Maid Marian, and everyone else was everyone else. One of the things we did was archery – it was amazing! Even Mummy had a go! XD There was a paddling pool and a trampoline!! We had all brought our swimming costumes so we got into them and dived head-first into the pool! At the end Myrren and Jasper (her brother), who are both learning violin, did a little show of it. They were brilliant and it was really lovely to watch!
Sunday
This week, on Sunday, Nanny and Uncle Paul came round! And guess what? Paul’s been living in Japan for three months! He only came back about a week ago. It was really amazing – he was telling us all about his house there, what he did, and everything like that. Did you know that one, every apartment in Japan has an electronic toilet that gently spurts water up when you’ve finished and cleans you, and that two, when the conductor of a train comes into your carriage to check your tickets, he always turns round to you and bows before he moves onto the next carriage! We played some games and had a big disco.. but best of all, we flew a drone!! We went to a big field nearby, because Paul had bought a drone the day before, and he was going to fly it! He fitted his phone into it and filmed me and Tilly trying to run after it! XD
