On Thursday, we left early in the morning to get the train to London, where we were to meet our friends Grace, Eve and Anne and our haven’t-seen-very-much friends Josiah and Abigail at the Design Museum! There we wondered around for a bit in the morning and then, over noon, had a workshop about… design! (Alice in Wonderland on a biking race up Jumping Jackrabbit Mountain! That wouldn’t have been my hundredth guess!)
I think the workshop was one of those things that you would love if you were interested in its subject, but would find particularly boring if you weren’t. Sadly, I am not all too interested in design, and did find it particularly boring (but tried my best to get engrossed). We went through a slideshow showing some strange objects and their moulds; for instance a bubble gum bin made out of bubble gum put previously in a bubble gum bin you can clip to a bubble gummy lamppost (what a lot of bubble-gums) and more!
After the workshop, we went to get some lunch with Grace, Eve and Anne. Although we would usually go to Pret, this time we went to a supermarket recommended by Josiah and Abigail’s mum. But this was no ordinary supermarket – this was Whole Foods, the posh, big, posher, bigger, poshest, biggest supermarket ever made! There Tilly and I shared an enormous tuna, cucumber and lettuce baguette and a huge tray of pesto and sundried tomato pasta with sparkling water! It was delicious.
After lunch, we had a quick look around some of the departments in the V&A museum but then had to leave quickly to get the four o’clock train home.
