Brian’s mother and father divorced, and Brian knows why. His father doesn’t. His father thought that Brian’s mother had just fallen out of love with him. Brian came close to telling him a few times. The real reason, that is. But for some reason, he never found the courage.
When his parents divorced, the lawyers decided that he would spend most of the time with his mother in the U.S., and the rest of the time with his father in Canada. But on the first flight to visit his father, the pilot has a heart attack and disaster strikes…
When Brian is forced to crash-land in a lake, he finds himself alone with no food or shelter in the Canadian wilderness. He survives an attack from a moose, becomes one with the bears and wolves, and develops a sense of acuteness that is key to his survival.
I thought this book was quite good. It was written in quite a modern style. It got a tiny bit boring sometimes, but I thought it was quite interesting and could easily have been a true story!
