Bruno has been told that Jews are hateful, disgusting, plotting, despicable vermin, scum beyond all measure. But when he meets one trapped in concentration camp, is that the sort of person he finds?
How far will Bruno go to help his new friend..?
I thought Boyne expressed his deepest feelings about the Holocaust and the War in general in this gripping page-turner. I cried at the end of both book and film. It was sad but really good in its own way.
See my much longer and in-depth review of the FILM on Common Sense Media or Letterboxd.
