Starring: Gerard Depardieu, Irrfan Khan
After reading Yann Martel’s Life of Pi, I was sceptical about how the film would turn out. I mean, how do you realistically film a young boy on a boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena and a Bengal tiger?
But somehow, Ang Lee managed to pull it off exceptionally well with his 2012 rendition of Life of Pi. In fact, it was so amazing that I actually cried at the end. The special effects were done really well, both in the boat with the wild animals and on the island full of meerkats, and the acting was very good too.
I’d also suspected that it would be a bit boring watching a boy on a boat for 227 days. But somehow this film was wildly exciting and emotional. Undoubtedly 5 stars out of 5!
