I’ve never had much of an interest in watching actual live sports on television, but recently I’ve fallen in love with the sort of sporty, feel-good American films like Remember the Titans and Coach Carter. Glory Road probably comes somewhere between those two. It was about an American basketball coach whose team, which was made out of only black players, famously defeated the unbeatable Kentucky team in 1966.
It was a heartwarming true story that encouraged me to ask for some similar themed films─we’re now watching The Express, the story of the black American footballer Ernie Davis. Look out for a review of that soon!
