Me, Tilly and Nanny

William was here this Christmas, and Nanny came round too which was lovely. We spent the morning getting dressed up and playing games and things while waiting for Nanny to get here. Then we opened our presents in the afternoon. I got some chocolate and perfume to share with Tilly and my mum, and loads of books which I’ll list here!:

  • 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson
  • Into The Whirlwind by Eugenia Ginzburg
  • Story of the British Isles by Neil Oliver
  • Selfish, Whining Monkeys by Rod Liddle
  • The Times’ Great War Letters
  • Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
  • A big quiz book (we each got one of these!)

Almost all of these books were on my Christmas wishlist and my mum didn’t even know!! I’m currently halfway through Infidel, Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s eye-opening memoir about growing up in Somalia and the Middle East. Next I want to start on Eugenia Ginzburg’s account of surviving the Russian Gulag.

In the evening, after our traditional Christmas curry dinner, we watched Only Fools and Horses and Fawlty Towers – another family tradition for us! 😂
