As many of you may know, today was A-Level results today. We were all up at 8am this morning watching my sister’s laptop screen intently as she reloaded the page, waiting for her A-Level results. She had applied to five universities for English Literature, including Oxford University, where Magdalen College was her first choice. She was given an offer of grades AAA, and although we all knew she could do it, she was terrified in the days and weeks leading up to results day. Of course it was no surprise to us when she got the grades she needed and was accepted into Magdalen, complete with a personal email from her English-professor-to-be!
She is so excited and I’m so happy for her. I’ve never actually visited the college, but from photos she’s taken I can see what a lovely place it will be. She’s already made some friends online who are also going to Oxford. I’m so happy that she got in, because she absolutely deserves it. She’s so clever and enthusiastic and lovely and I know she’ll be a massive asset to their class of 2025!
(It’s a win for me too, because I get to go and visit her and go to her formal dinners and do ballroom dancing.)
