Dens and ladders

Today at Forest School I made a ladder, here's how to do it:

  1. Get a piece of string quite long able to get round your neck hip long, say.
  2. Lopper up some very thin twidley sticks, about 4 per person.
  3. Get your string and make a loop near the bottom.
  4. Then, where the loop has crossed over, take the piece of string nearer to the left of the bottom of the loop.
  5. Move that string into your first loop. Put the end of your stick through the second loop. Then, get one end of the string and the other.
  6. PULL FOR A LIFETIME!
  7. Do that to the other end of the twig and if it doesn't work on your first one, you've probably tied it to the wrong  end!
  8. Do that on every twig.
  9. DONE!!!!!!!

After that Maryam and Hannah, me and Tilly, we tried to finish off our den. There was 3 boys, named James, Thomas and Finn. (We call them 'the what they think are amazing ratbags). They were trying to rade our den. Thomas was poking holes in our piles of leaves and James was helping Finn write 'rading beware' in the mud we had already tidied scrapes from. They were even taking the bark off the trees and killing the worms and tiny creatures we had found. Even if worms do grow it still is HORRIBLE. Thomas killed one and poked its eyes and did cruel things to it.  it was really sad and he just laughed and didn't even say sorry. He just looked at his knees and I even saw the horrid smile on his face.

We played 40 40 in and I won the last game! Alex was really rude – he just stared at Nicky and blamed everyone else and inturrupting them. He wanted his own way and rule and to get it he thought he would SCREAM AND SHOUT AND INTURRUPT and.. all sorts.
