We went to see the Cheapside Hoard yesterday. We went with our friend Elise on the train to London to see it.
- Cheapside is a place where some builders found lots of gems, pearls and jewels. They are about 400 years old! They sold them to the people who had a museum and then that person put them in. I'll tell which ones I can remember:
- A blue one with pink at the bottom = a blue sapphire with a tincy chain at the bottom which hung another sapphire and another chain which hung a pink jewel, named a spinel.
- A raspberry looking one = It was purple, and it was Elise's birth jewel! It was called an amethyst (am – a – thist)
- My best one was a green emerald. It was two stuck together and it had a green emerald open lid and inside was a little tiny golden sculture of a clock, it was a jewel watch. I loved it – and I was wondering how much it would be! More than the museum, that's at least 1 million, maybe 2, then that would be 3, bla bla bla!
- Then there were pearls, they were inside some oyster shells.
After lunch, we went to the museum again to do this roman looking out for thing. We had sheets and we had to draw roman tools and china – glass pots. It was really fun. Then a load of french people came circling round me and it was really scary. "Excusemwa!" burst out one, "Peeti poo pwa! Mmmm!" a fat boy gossiped. I quickly took my sheets and ran off through the middle. Then, then was the time when the stared at me and pushed me out the way. It was horrible!
