Firstly, our hotel was no ordinary hotel, oh no. It looked exactly like a mansion, and it was very nicely made, and the people in there were actually quite nice. We made a friend there called Lilly, and she was going to Alton Towers the very next day, and we got her email address so that we could email her. It had a lounge with all kinds of games in and one of the games we already had at home! It was a brain box game of the world and the countries, and it was really fun. When Tilly wanted to make friends with Lilly, she was shy and nervous, but she stood up straight and walked over and asked, "Are you talking about Alton Towers? May I join the conversation?" and Lilly's dad said, "Yes, we are. Would you kindly help Lilly with the map, please? Just over there." And, she did, and made friends.
OUR HOTEL
We asked the lady at the check-out-y-thing where our hotel was and she and mummy had a WEIRD conversation because they had got mixed up with what date we were meant to be staying there, but in the end, she said, "307," in a I-am-serious-and-certain-about-this voice, and then she pointed up and shooed us away.
WHAT OUR HOTEL WAS LIKE
When we finally found our way and got in, I almost fainted in amazment. Firstly, it had three bunk beds, and one normal bed. Secondly, it had a windowseat and a round window entertaining us with the outside street of Ilam. Thirdly, it had really snuggly duvets and pllows, and last of all, I had a really good sleep. Snore, shooo, snore, shooo….
OUR KITCHEN….I'M IN LOVE WITH IT… 😀
We had an amazing kitchen, one kitchen to share with the other jolly lodgers. We had pizza and lettuce and tamatoes and a glass of water, and because we had forgotten milk mummy had to steal all of the milk that was in the fridge and even more later on. Lovely way to explain. La la la la la la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la. "Mummy moos! I told everyone in the history of the world that you've stole!" And it is correct.
THE NEXT DAY
The next day, we all went to Dovedale, and walked along the river and went across some stepping stones and back again. They were quite wobbly, but not that bad.
Then we found a swing, where you put one foot in, stand back and let go.
Then we found a log full of 10 and 2 and 5 and 1p(s), and Mummy had the lucky penny Tilly had given me, so we guessed it was a wishing-log, and me and Tilly stood with our arms together and shared the wish.
SHOPPING IN ASHBORNE (AND A VERY HARD DAY)
After that, we went, "shop, shop, shop, shopping it is," and me and Tilly held hands and sang and sang. "Shopping is random, shopping is weird, shopping is fun – good for my bum – and helps me run – I have no idea why I am being a weirdo." And it was very odd. VERY odd. We went in antique shops, cake shops and a slice of cake each the size of my head, and then we went home.
