Soon I’ll be a cousin!

I’m really excited, because I’m soon going to be a cousin! My auntie, Beci, is having a baby boy in two or three weeks, and she’s got a very big bump! I read him stories while it’s in her tummy (when she goes round to Nanny’s house), and I sing him songs and stroke him.

“Once upon a time,” I say. “Goldilocks was walking through the woods and came across a cottage…”

Chris’ (Chris is Beci’s boyfriend) Mummy sais, “Oh, I wouldn’t leave the baby with those two girls, even if you did only go to the toilet or have a shower. I wouldn’t, anyway, they’ll probably hit him and kick him if he starts being annoying. No, Beci, don’t, seriously. He’ll get hurt.” But Beci, Chris, Mummy, Tilly or me don’t think so! “No, of course they wouldn’t!” Beci and Chris would reply. “It’s just because you haven’t seen the kind little things,” Chris would say. “Yes. And all the little girls you see are mean, ugly, horrible children, just not them!” Beci would say, flying into an enormous rage. “NO!” So I think that after a few more words, Chris’ Mummy would change her mind! Phew!

When he’s born, he’ll reconise my voice because I have read him so many stories, he’ll almost properly know me as much as he knows Beci and Chris and Nanny, his Mummy and Daddy and Nanny! He won’t know Andy, or Mummy or William, not even Tilly! No, no, no!

Also when he’s born, I’m going to sing to him properly, talk to him, make him go to sleep on my lap (well, not exactly make him, but still), and I’m going to read him lullabies and all sorts…
