Cambridge with Cameron: playing and making friends

A few days ago we went to Cambridge, where we saw Mummy’s friend Leeanne and her son Cameron. We went in lots of parks, and all played on the swings and roundabout, and saw how fast we could go. All of us together played a game called the ‘yes-or-no’ game, where one person asked the others questions that would usually only be answered with yes or no. Unfortunately for the others, you’re not allowed to say yes or no, or shake your head, or nod your head, or even say the words ‘yeah’, ‘know’, or ‘nah’ or anything like that. Also, you’re not allowed to hesitate, because then you’re… out! It was really fun with so many players. In the no-laughing game, William kept going out whenever Cameron went ‘hey’ in a funny voice, and I thought it was hilarious when Tilly just stared and stared at us until we chuckled! But, I think, my idea was the best. I started to repeat a passage from Macbeth called ‘The Raven Himself is Hoarse’ where in one part Lady Macbeth starts to talk about her – umm – woman’s breasts, and then everybody started laughing their heads

We had lunch in one of those big parks, too, a french stick and some cheese, to be exact. It was really tasty, and we had falaffals too.

After lunch, we walked along by the river, where we saw loads of cyclists, ducks and even cows! They were great big brown ones, all mooing in the fields at the foot of the river. There were also some people in long boats, rowing, rowing down the river so quickly I barely had time to see them before they ducked under the huge brown bridge and were gone! It was amazing how quickly they could row – and not fall in, either!

We had dinner in a posh pub called Wetherspoons. It was really fun, and a great treat since we never usually have dinner out! I had a delicious chilli, and so did William; but Tilly had a whacking great fish and chips! Because we were so thirsty, we got some ice-cold water with icecubes. It was really refreshing!
