Today was our second day of Cooking School. William was put in a different group with Matilda and Joseph and Joshuamino got put in with (the other) William and Ellie. I was with the same group as last time – Annie and Ella.
Today we were making falafels, which were very nice!
I started putting some corriander in a blue, sparkly cup and chopping it with scissors. It took a long time. Ella started to peel some garlic and Annie began to chop up some onions. I liked it a lot. It was enjoyable, even for Ellie who wasn’t very much into cooking. Everyone should go! Carefully, we put them all into a bowl followed by some chickpeas and loads and loads of chilli slices of chilli pepper. “I love hot things,” said Annie. “So do I!” screeched Ella. “Me too, guys. Everyone does,” I added, seeing all the children carry trays of pepper and chilli slices.
We’d put the little squashed balls in the pan and turned it on to number 2. Stan came and said, “looking good…have you seen table 1? They’re cooking on almost 3!” And he meant Tilly, William and Joseph! * apart from this bit* I was not enjoying this. Think I would? I was stammering after that. William, my brother, and Tilly, my own sister, and Joseph, William’s friend, cooking on number 3? I felt sick. OK, hold on, Lavinia…you’re only going to die – William, Tilly and Joseph aren’t actually cooking on number 3, so calm down…Annie will relax you with her jokes, is what I was thinking.
Then we made fruit kababs. I had pineapple, grapes, and also a few bits of honey dew melon. It was DELICIOUS! Really, it was. I loved all of it* (by the way, that’s an asterisk there).
At the end, they gave us bread in a bag. We haven’t made it yet, and I’ve forgotten what to do, but I’ll at least try…no, I can’t remember – sorry!
