A day with Kate and Co.!

On Monday, we went to see Mummy’s friend Kate, her husband Kirk, and their children Freyja (nearly thirteen), Florence (nearly ten), Stanley (four), and Ethel, who is the cutest around three-month-old baby ever! She is SO adorable, and so is Stan! He spent the first half of us coming showing us around the house and saying things like, “This is a bath. This is what you do with a bath. This is a toilet. This is what you do with a toilet. This is a bed. This is what you do with a bed. This is—” and so continuing!

They have three dogs: two black labradoodles called Roxy and Ronnie, both female, and one male called Eric. I’m not sure what breed Eric is, but he looked something like a bulldog, bullmastiff, and a boxer, and he was white! Personally I wasn’t actually a big fan of Eric; I wasn’t scared of him, he was just a bit slobbery! I liked Ronnie best though, because she just let you pet her and then went and slept in the sun 😉

We played Hide ‘n’ Seek quite a lot, because their house is so HUGE! There were loads of hiding places, and sometimes I went in the most obvious ones ever and it took ages for the seeker to find me! One example was when I realised that I only had ten seconds left and that I desperately needed to find somewhere to hide, so I hurried into Stan’s bedroom and buried myself under some inflatable doughnuts and plush strawberries. William wandered into the room in an attempt to hide quickly too, and when I whispered, “Can you see any of me?” and he said, “Yes, lots,” I had a feeling I was going to get caught easily. But then Flo, who by then had finished counting, found William still trying to find a hiding place, and found everyone before she came across me—in fact, she stood right next to my hand several times, moaning quite understandably, “I can’t fi-i-i-nd her!” But eventually she did.

We were sad to have to go home, but we were filled up with a delicious hot dog and lots of orange juice, so we weren’t actually hungry when we got there!
