Today, Mummy, Tilly and I went ice skating. It was really fun, and it was real ice. At first we were quite wobbly and I kept falling over and slipping. Tilly got really good, and eventually I got really good too. We were whizzing around the place, left, right, forwards, the other way and a lot of other directions.
I found it really hard to get up once I’d fallen down, as the skates (like usual) had one blade in the middle, and I kept falling onto my side… It didn’t hurt much, though – we were padded all right! We had water-proof trousers, coats, fleeses and all that. Whoever didn’t have water-proof trousers would get their bum dirty and wet, and have to shake it underneath the hand-drier!!
Elise and Taryn were there too. Taryn was whizzing off too, and on some occasions Elise was holding to the barrier (I’m not saying she wasn’t good, as I was holding on to the barrier sometimes too) but otherwise she was amazing at it, like me, Mummy, Tilly, Taryn and some of the other people.
It was scary when we were walking on normal ground and then suddenly you had to be up for it and go slipping around on ice. It was a change, I mean, and I was slightly worried when I just had to step up on to a huge block of ice, and I hadn’t been on it for ages, and so, “Ouch! My bum! Oof!” was me.
