Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream-Coat

Yesterday we went to the theatre to see the musical ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream-Coat’. It was really cool, and I really liked the lady singing as the Narrator best, she was really good at it all. I found it very whizzy when at first she was in a blue dressing-gown and then took it off to reveal her black, starry, moony, planetty suit! Joseph was very good too, and his brothers.

To get you the summary, Jacob (Joseph’s father) gave Joseph a technicolour coat in which Joseph adored. Unfortunately, the brothers were all very jealous that Jacob loved Joseph more than them, and they then sold Joseph as a slave in a palace in Egypt. The brothers put a goat’s blood on the coat and showed it to Jacob so that he thought his best son was dead, and so cared for the brothers more than his dead son. Joseph ends up in a man called Potiphar, but when Potiphar sees his wife trying to flirt with Joseph, he thinks Joseph is flirting with her, and throws him in jail…

Pharaoh Elvis Presley comes to see Joseph to translate his dream, and then gives (as a reward) a hard person to Joseph to break his handcuffs for him, and then Joseph escapes from the jail and goes back home. He puts on a mask to hide himself, and gives his brothers sacks of food, but puts a golden cup in Benjamin’s. Then he accuses Benjamin of stealing, to get revenge. When the other brothers show pity for Benjamin, and Joseph realises that his pitiful brothers have changed, and so let’s them all free from being put in jail. Then he reveals himself and lives happily ever after…
