Lego Land Favourites

Yesterday, like you’d believe it, we went to Lego Land. We had to wait in a queue to get some special paper ticket entries. That was where we met Katie, who was calling for us at the bannister. We greeted her as we moved on through the queue for the tickets, as she greeted us. Eventually the queue died down a bit, and we were soon by the checkout, showing India (the lady there) our Blue Peter badges in exchange for tickets, not risking anything with our free entry. Once we were out of the queue, we walked down a steep hill and there waited for other visitors (Sadie and my friend Liv-Astrid, pronounced Liv-Ustri) to arrive. While doing so, we looked on the map and on our phones to find out where the nearest fun things were.

It turned out Liv-Astrid and her brothers were at a workshop and Sadie was on her way there. The nearest few rides were the Jolly Rocker, River Splash and Spinnning Spider. Liv-Astrid soon came pouring out of the workshop along with other crowds of people, but William had to go and get her brothers off the computer 😉 As they did so, Matilda and Katie todded off to a different workshop, and when the boys came back, they ran off with them to go to the workshop too. Me and Liv-Astrid didn’t particularly want to go to a workshop, plus Liv-Astrid had already been to one.

My mother had once before told us to not go on any wet rides until the very, very end of the day. Liv-Astrid had said that she had gone on a water ride twice already and that it would be a perfect idea to go on it again. So she and I pursuaded my mother until she finally said okay, and we raced off to go on all the other rides. Once we had been (five times) on the water ride, I soon pursuaded Liv-Astrid to go on the Log Flume with me. Once she had said yes, we raced on it together and began to scream. In fact, that ride was so top-notch, I need a whole new paragraph to be able to say how brilliant it was – how about a Story Time paragraph?

I had once pursuaded Liv-Astrid to go on the Log Flume, the towering ride in Lego Land, the only ride of Doom, the greatest, most powerful… anyway, we climbed into a log-shaped cart, just me and Liv-Astrid at the very back of the cart, and there we set off on a journey mission, passing moving lego pirates that spat water at you (the water was meant to be like rum) and then you passed huge lego crocodiles and more lego moving pirates, and sooner or later, when you came to the sea, there would be mini lego turtles and things. Then came the steepest hill ever, round about 30 metres towards the air, where you would then pass into a pitch black room, and scream to death, before letting your cart roll straight down a huge, huge, HUGE hill-mountain that would end in water. You would scream and scream, and when the cart would reach the water, it would slosh and splash and pour, raging down on you like an angry earthquake…

There were plenty of other rides, but only some of which William went on, as he came too. There was the Rollercoaster, with no particular name, I don’t think, but he only went on that once or twice. We repeatedly went on it, though, and as Liv-Astrid is allergic to smoke, when the dragon breathed it at us, she had duck under my lap and hold her breath 🙂 There was also the Fire Engine ride, where you had to drive the Fire Engine towards the burning house and save it, go back down to the Fire Engine and drive back to the Station lanes, and maybe when you’re getting out of the car, you might want to pretend to sign your name on the owner of the burning house’s notebook!

It  was a  very hot day, so  when we got wet, we dried quite quickly. This was good for us, as we did get absolutely soaking!

(William has written about it too.)
