This week we had a very big week – because William (you know, my step brother) was off school for the holidays so he could come everywhere too! Since Freyja & Flo’s house we have been:
Swimming
A few days ago we went swimming with our friends, Taryn, Freya, Elise, Katie and a new girl called Sian. (By the way, Sian sounds like Si-an, but it’s not because it’s Irish. Actually you say ‘Sharn’. Very complicated.) I had had a nosebleed before that very morning, and because I still had a little scab on my nose, I was jumping in and the pressure of the water blew it off and then I had another really tiny one in the pool. I wasn’t allowed to have my head underwater straight after the bleed, although in a few minutes (about ten) I was, just not jumping in. I played with Katie and all the others, but mainly Mummy. I practiced my swimming and it was extremely fun.
We went swimming again today and I did some more jumping in. It was more fun than last time, because I didn’t have a nose bleed. I saw Elise, Katie, Taryn, Freya and Tilly playing this ‘jumping in’ game, so joined in too. Katie (in her wonderful bright yellow frilly swim-suit that I wished I could borrow for ten thousand seconds) stood next to me and Freya next to her, then Tilly, then Taryn then Elise. Elise jumped in and swam away then Taryn did the same then Tilly, and after that Freya, then Katie and then me – we all did the same – and guess what? I jumped in in the deep end! 🙂
Minecraft
We’ve got a tablet, did you know that? Well we do, and we put a new game on it called Minecraft. Have you tried Blockheads? It’s similar to that. If you haven’t played that, you know, Blockheads, I recomend it for about three or up year olds, definitely. Sorry zero, one or two year olds…In fact, derfinitely not zero or one year olds, but if you allow a two year old to you can…but only if you’re a grown-up, that is! They just might not be able to understand it very well…
Shopping
We went shopping three or four days ago, and we went in Costco. I bounced up into the box of giant fluffy-bears (which is its real name, Fluffy-Bears) and Mummy took a photograph, and here it is:
Library
We went to the library (in fact we went twice in one week, and if that’s wrong don’t blame me blame Mummy because she was the one who said so) and we took some books out and in, out and in. I pressed ‘borrow’ and then it told me ‘scan your card’ and I scanned it. Then it said ‘place your items on the desk’ and I put down ‘Demon Headmaster’. Usually there isn’t any children inside because they’re all at school, and we have all the computers to ourselves. Then ‘aaagh! Wraaa! I cannot believe it’s already four o’clock! Wow! Mum, where’s Doodle the Poodle? Mummy!!! Elisabeth just stole Ben the bear! Liz-zy! Mummy, raaagh! Gimme icecream or I’ll smack you!’ oh – the stupid, noisy school children have arrived, and this is the time that we leave. Ha. 😛
Reading
This week I did a lot of reading. I read outside, as you can see, and I read on the mat with Mummy. Then I read in the car while we took William to school and when we went on our amazing adventures. Then I also read with Tilly on the sofa, and I read in the morning while I wait for Mummy to come into my room. I sometimes (rather rarely, though) have what we call ‘reading time’ at bedtime, and when William’s here we both go downstairs and read in the morning. So, in shorter words, I read a lot.
Wrest Park
In the week we went to Wrest Park. (This was after swimming, by the way.) I was fine at swimming and on the way I was fine too, but when I got there I had the most bad tummy ache anyone including me could possibly have – in fact, that tummy ache was impossible for anyone, even me, to have. Even though I had it, so duh. I just sat on Mummy’s lap the whole time, feeling bored and miserable. Unfortunately, I left my book* at home, so I kept asking the cafe lady for pens and pencils and sheets of paper to draw on. “Please,” I’d say, “can I have a pencil and perhaps a bit of -“
“Paper,” the lady finished off.
“Yes, if possible,” I smiled sweetly. The lady sighed.
“Simon! A girl wants a pen,” she boomed through the cooking door.
“A girl.” A teenage looking boy came out and held out a pen.
“Oh – I wanted a pencil, and ‘if possible’ a bit of paper,” I smiled again.
“Don’t ‘av any in store, little girl,” he sneered at me. I knew he did, though I took the pen and wondered off aimlessly.
Carboot Sale
All of the stuff in the picture above we got from the car boot sale, for less than £10! And also we had some stuff that you can’t see in the picture, like lady bird earrings and a couple of necklaces. It was very hot and we were going to do a bike ride afterwards, but in the end we decided we were never to do something that would make us hot ever again that very day, although I agreed not to do that, but in a way that meant that I’d run just to get the hotness over with!
Nosebleeds
I had a big scary nosebleed and afterwards I had a HUGE scab all over my nose and I was simply petrified. I’m quite used to odd small nose bleeds, but this one I thought I’d faint because all the blood woud simply pour out of my head and I’d be empty, and in fact, I wouldn’t faint, I’d practically die.
Gardening
We did some gardening the other day, and Tilly did so much chopping she got a whole box of chocolates and three packets of the must sugary, amazing sweets ever made called Cola Lances, Strawberry flavoured pencils and Fizzy multi-coloured belts – ummm….
While we were gardening there was lots of snails in the way so we made a Snail-Home in a box so that we didn’t chop their shells off and make them slugs, eww!
Playing with Caitlin
I’ve been waiting to play with Caitlin for ages and we finally decided to go to a play centre near by. We played ‘Explore the Floors’ and ‘Run Away From the Toddlers who Keep Chasing us’ and that kind of thing. It was fun. We had the whole place to ourselves apart from scattering groups of toddlers, so we had quite a bit of room. 🙂
Playing with Giselle
After playing all day with Caitlin we got home and straight away went up to my other friend Giselle’s house. Giselle has a three-year-old little sister who’s rrreeeaaalllyyy cute called Mabel and a nine-year-old brother called Oscar and a very nice Mummy. Mabel once went up to a random person’s house (that she didn’t know but luckily her mummy did called Rob) and got him to give us all a fruit-pastille ice-lolly! We had spagetti for dinner and it was nice. We played ‘loom bands’ in her bedroom and she put some weird make-up on me that I had to wash off really hard.
Beavers
After swimming yesterday we had to get out quickly (well, Tilly didn’t, she stayed in with Katie) because I had Beavers and we were meant to be bug-hunting but it was too rainy so we went to the hut instead. We played ‘Shark Attack’ with a parachute and one of the Beavers had to make a promise and two new Beavers came. We made some Father’s Day stuff, but we couldn’t bring it home because the leader had to order some plastic to go around it.
*I usually take my book out with me, but this time for some reason I left it at home. 🙁
