Yesterday, me and Tilly went to go to my friend Jessica’s party. She’s now eight. It was at a gymnastics centre. Tilly, Taryn, someone else, maybe someone else, Annie (Tilly’s old school friend) and I went in a group and then we went to a foam-pit thing and we’d jump in it and play games.
Jessica had a BIG birthday cake. It was a chocolate one with chocolate-fingers around the edge and maltesers around the rim and M’n’Ms on the icing. I had a big slice when I got home and it was delicious…
We did this thing where we’d hang on hoop shaped bars and then, about two or three metres below, there was a pit of foam…guess what we’d do? We’d jump!
I’d never jumped from it before (I used to go to this gym), but I did it this time, and it wasn’t so bad. I thought that I was being silly when I didn’t want to, because actually it’s really cool and fun! There was a little boy there who was about five who did it, so I watched him, realised he’d done it, thought a bit more and did it!
I think that if you’re scared about doing this particular thing, just think more and close your eyes. Count to three and do it! The way that I jumped from those hoops was just this: look down, great – it’s high. Then I remembered that everyone else would be pleased with me and there’s no other way to get down. So I clung onto the hoops hard and dropped.
I thought that the best bit was probably the gym part. The best out of the ‘gym part’ was the drop-from-the-hoops bit. I’m a gymmy girl, so I liked it a lot.
In the pictures here, I’m making some jewelly hairslides. I got them in my party bag my friend gave me, and I made them all pretty with rhinestones and roses. Do you like the patterns I chose? If you don’t, you can comment and say that I should of put such-and-such pattern or something…actually, don’t!
