It was my ninth birthday recently, and it was really fun. I got some really cool presents, and guess what? I got a white Chromebook laptop that I’m writing on now, with a shining black keyboard and a white background and base. It’s really nice and my favourite present. I also got a really cute teddy called Ellie Bear from Suki, which is the same make that made Kendall Bear (read below posts). I prefer the look of Kendall but Ellie’s fur texture, because it’s so fluffy and cuddly, but Kendall looks better with his muzzle, I think.
I also got a teal organiser with little butterflies on the front cover with little diaries and checkbooks in it, which is super nice! That was from Nanny Trish and Grandad Mal. I really like that, too, and I can’t wait to be able to write in it, so I must say, thank you, Grandad Mal and Nanny Trish! I also got a really nice writing book with a padded pale blue cover with shells and beads on the front with golden sparkles in the pages. Thanks, Tilly, who gave me it! I’m going to make it a poem book with all the poems I’ve written myself – I’ve written the first stanza of one here:
Looking up and around to the heavens
Remembering when I was in my sevens
Knowing now that I’m long old
And those lovely days are dead and cold.
Do you like it? I made it up randomly while playing a game on my party. I am going to call it something along the lines of ‘The Elderly’, but I think that’s a bit boring, so I might name it something a little more interesting 😉 I will be making lots of stanzas for each and every poem and hopefully they will fill up the pad – though there are a lot of pages, so I’m not sure that’ll be happening soon!
I was going to have a coctail party, and I got into my poshest dress with pale pink chiffon and beads and so did Tilly, and we even made some really nice soup and went to the shop to get lemonade and things for the mocktails, but then I started to feel slightly ill when I was sipping my soup, and soon had changed from my pretty dress to my pyjamas 🙁 We all then snuggled up under the duvet on the sofa with Nanny and everyone else apart from Andy (he was doing work) and William (he was at his mum’s). We watched a briliant film called School of Rock which I thought sounded awful, but really it was great!
Mummy said that because I was a bit too sick to have a disco and doilies and things on my real birthday, I could have my birthday party another day when I felt better. So I had my real party yesterday…
We got dressed up again and had our hair clean and washed. First it seemed just a normal day, but then Mummy introduced us to Poker, which is a really fun card game. Tilly had the most chips in the end, and Mummy and Andy and I were out, but William had quite a lot too. As we didn’t get to finish the game, we’re going to have another one between Tilly and William and see who really wins.
We had my second favourite dinner, red lentil dahl. While Mummy made it, Tilly, William and I went into the lounge and had a disco. I chose all the music and took the occasional requests. I played the music from my playlist on Spotify, which is half random good music from random good playlists, half from the 80s playlist. I especially like the Jukebox Classics, too – my favourite is The Whole of the Moon.
We had the delicious dinner of dahl with refreshing yoghurt (“with no flavour,” as William complained afterwards) and coriander and lentils with some rice and peshwari naan. After that, we had some of a fantastic Vienetta where Andy lit the candles with a blowtorch… (Vienetta sounds a bit like a name, doesn’t it?) The ice cream ran through our teeth and the slabs of chocolate were so tasty!
I had a great birthday, and I am sorry for those people whose presents haven’t been listed, but there are too many really nice ones to xxx
