So far, all of my posts on this very website have mainly just been about one event. So I am going to do a Weekly Summary every now and then, and this shall be my first. I shall write a short paragraph entry of each day under each header. I shall also write any upcoming events underneath a different header. This way, you shall see more than one event without clicking back and forth and blah blah, and also it makes me feel nice and organised when I do a new thing!
My, what I am wittering about? Who knows…
Monday
This Monday, we went swimming, but Tilly had a bad cold so she wasn’t able to stay in. Gracie and Lillian weren’t able to for very long either, but Elise stayed in with me at the end and we played some terrific games. We played a new game where you have to make the other person faint, funnily, by saying things like, “I think you’re too spotty for a wedding,” and then the other person has to pull a disgusted face and faint into the water! Afterwards, of course, you had to say ‘sorry, no offence’ but there would indeed be the response of ‘no offence taken, we’re playing an silly game’ – and that was how it all went.
Tuesday
A big storm boiled up late in the afternoon, huge and thundering, lightning and lights flickering in all rooms – and you know what my Cub leader said? “In case you were wondering, the Cubs group will still be going on a hike in the middle of the storm. It will be a challenge for the children to light a fire in the rain. Hope to see them then.” You guessed right – I stayed at home under my fluffy blanket.
Wednesday
On Wednesday we stayed in and did some work. We learnt about Edward III and the Hundred Years’ War, and about how he fought against the Scottish to reign over Scotland. Scottish rebels and all that lot were there. Didn’t sound very fun in that huge battle..
Thursday
We went to our usual club, and we did some Latin, reading, and that sort of thing while the others did Multisports; and then we went down to the park, Tilly off with Mason and Henry and the adorable little toddler Max, while I scooped off with Lillian and Niamhy. LLL wasn’t much of a business then, however, for Sienna, the only toddler who was there and wanted to do it, wanted to go and play, and she didn’t really want to be taken to the library to read on such a sunny day! So after a page or two of reading, she cried out, “It!” and so we all went and played It 😉 After that, we went to our Wind in the Willows Play, which I’ve written a separate post about.
Friday
On Friday, yesterday, we set up a new working timetable. It had lots of stuff to do, and we were working since elevenish (for Tilly slept in to about ten, knowing her 😀 ) and and then towards half sixish! But it was tiring, and we were rather panicky, however, we felt a lot more educated afterwards 😉
Oncoming Events
Holiday tomorrow, holiday next week.
