Today is the first of January 2015, the new year. I’m really excited about the things I might get up to, and think of the changes that’s happened since the past. For instance, when I finally got a friend and had sleepovers when I thought I’d never have any. I might like to read more books than usual, or do more excersize, or maybe I’d get off my DS for once, or stop doing some habits.
In 2015, at some point, I’d like to go to Greece/Germany/France/Egypt and have loads of fun in the sandy beaches and possibly we could have a nice and cold swimming pool in our garden, where we’d relax and sun-bathe and let ourselves float around in the cool, relaxing water underneath the burning sun.
Last year, in 2014, I made a friend – but not just any old friend. Her name’s Caitlin, and she’s much more different from me. I’m more serious, and I like writing stories all day – but Caitlin’s more interested in dancing around and she’s very jokey. That way, that’s good for me, because if we weren’t friends, I wouldn’t be doing the things that she does, and I would only have one way, which would be writing stories instead of jumping around and having loads of fun.
I also did a gym display, where I had to do all my routine in front of everyone’s parents. And guess what? I nearly did a full cartwheel! You know, when you spin your legs round in the air while standing on your hands! To me it felt like one of those disaster-cartwheels I usually do, but apperently it wasn’t. Basically, all I could feel was my legs straigtening up and then back down again. I could see Mummy, Tilly and Andy cheering when I did it, so I assumed that I’d nearly or even had done a cartwheel!
And Nanny finally got a new house that was hers, and it’s really cosy with soft and fluffy carpet. The one thing wrong with it is the heat – but that’s not the house’s fault. Nanny is the one who turns the heating up ridiculously high, about 17 degrees! (Maybe not that high – but still, I could run around in a vest and shorts in that house and I’d still be boiled up in a house-shaped-saucepan.) But even then, heat is heat, the house is Nanny’s, Nanny’s like-the-heat instincts are Nanny’s – and that means that Nanny can have whatever temperature in her house she likes.
We went to Alton Towers too, and that was what I definitely call ‘particularly fun’. Tilly even went on Oblivion – but I have to say, I did stand there eating sweets… I wasn’t tall enough to go on Oblivion or some of the other rides, but I could go on Th13teen, Sonic Spinball and some others. And they were ALL fun!
A lot of our days we spent camping, and Mummy, Tilly, Andy, William and I went camping in Somerset, where it was really pretty, fun and the people who owned the campsite had an absulutely cute chicken called Berty. And they set up trampolines and things for all the kids (including William, me and Tilly). To know more about these marvelous events, find the posts where I’ve written in more detail about them.
Last year, I moved up to Cubs and Brownies, and I’m really excited about all the camps at Cubs and sleepovers at Brownies. I remember Tilly and William going to them and having loads of fun doing really cool activities – but I had to stay at home wandering around the house with barely anything to do without brothers and sisters.
2014 was so cool and fun, we’ve done loads of things and I think in 2015 it’s going to be even more fun!
While I’m still eight, as I’ve only got a year until I’m nine, I’d like to publish a book. And don’t go crazy, as I’ve got just the book. Me and Caitlin are making a special book called Journey to a Different Dimension, and if it turns out really good, I could possibly (just possibly) type it out on the computer, print it out and show it to a publisher. And if it’s good to them – ping – it’s in the library.
