Peter Pan Dress Rehearsal

Have you heard of my new club? I auditioned for a Peter Pan performance quite a couple of months ago, and right today (7th July, that is) is the Big Day! The performance. Of course, every big thing in the world has a dress rehearsal (a special rehearsal at the actual place with all the costumes on just without the audience). Mine was a couple of days ago, and I have to say it could well have been a little better. I am Tinkerbell as well as a pirate, you see, so I have two seperate costumes and different scenes and songs to go in. That means that I’m not sure which Tink scene I should go in or what pirate song I should go in. The director, Ben, is a little grumpy pretty much all the time, so when I asked him which side of the stage I should be on, I’m always scared to ask him because he gets annoyed and angry. Then I have to ask Peter Pan, but sometimes he doesn’t know my cue or he’s already on stage. Ben gets rather snappy, too, so I don’t know who to ask and the other helpers don’t know my cue either. I hope it goes well on performance night today and on Saturday!

My roles as Tinkerbell are going on in the important scenes with the mains, like Wendy and Peter and Hook. I don’t talk; I use my bell bracelet and my arms and wings for that. I have a beautiful costume, all flowery hairbands and a bouncy skirt with roses sewn into it. Then I have my wings, and the purple shoes I’m going to take with me, and my white tights and yellow leotard. I come in quite a bit, but for the times when I’m not on stage, all I have to do is wait around really, until I’m able to switch costume in the corner with my pirate one to do some acting pirate songs. I go onto stage when Peter does, but not all of the time. I don’t go in any fights or anything against Peter and the pirates though. The normal rehearsals are really fun, so I thought the dress one would be too; but worst came to worst. Hopefully that was the only role of worstness, and this performance will be brilliant. Wish my luck!
