It’s been so long since I properly wrote on this website, but I’ve been super busy with my GCSE physics and haven’t had much time to catch up on it. So here’s a quick post about all the things I’ve done over the past couple of weeks, which are:

  • physics
  • watching Criminal Minds
  • more physics
  • going to the gym
  • and more physics.

I sat the first of two papers for the GCSE a few days ago, and sadly I was really disappointed with how I felt I did. I’d been getting 9s in my recent past papers, but this paper was so unfairly different from what I’ve got used to practising. Basically, there are two kinds of physics questions: mathsy ones, and big long 6-markers where you have to write about a page on how certain devices work. Oddly enough for someone who loves English and doesn’t really like maths, I’ve been finding the mathsy ones super easy and was getting really confident doing them, but I’m not so great at the 6-markers. That was fine because in the past papers, about 75% of the questions are mathsy, so I was still getting good grades even if I didn’t get all the marks on the 6-markers. But this paper that I sat was wildly different – it was absolutely chock full of the evil 6-markers and had about three mathsy questions on it! I was so, so disappointed and felt really deflated when I left the exam centre. Hopefully I can do better on the second paper and raise my overall score (hopefully!! Please wish me luck!).
