Remembrance Day 2014

Today was Remembrance Day. It was quite chilly, so it wasn’t the best day for it, but when we went to the Village Hall it was quite a bit warmer and my jumper made me cosy (but the floor didn’t; it was hard and wooden). I thought that it was sad when the man started to read out the names of the people who died in the war – even him had a bit of a muffled voice which made him sound sad too. The names had a lot of [letter].[letter].s in it, and I thought it was a bit strange because usually our names now don’t have those in them, apart from C.S. Lewis, of course! 😉

When all the children had to stand and face the front and listen to the names being called out and those that remembered them, I felt very sad. I think that as I remembered towards them and felt sad so much that I should be able to be put on the ‘REMEMBERING’ list. That means that next year I’ll be read out on that list – ‘Lavinia …’ just like that!

Meaning to this post: For your tomorrow we gave our today.
