Science and swimming

Gracie and her little sisters came round! It was ultra fun. First we did some science, where we learnt about the elements and valancy. We did some kind of hard balancing equations and some other similarly-related work in my new science book. Grace and I got a bit puffed up about the balancing equations – but I wouldn’t blame us, Ruth said if she had looked at them a bit more she would have immediately left the tab – but we found lunch a bit more exciting 😉 We were all starving and frenchstick with philidelphia was just what we needed! We went over oxides and science to refresh our memories a bit so that they weren’t entirely absorbed in cheese, and then we headed off to the leisure centre for swimming lessons.

Tilly found them boring and just like school. But I thought they were fun: the teacher was lovely, and she didn’t make us do anything we couldn’t do. She got us to demonstrate to her how we can do front-crawl, and the arm movements to breast-stroke, and then she gave us some floats for us to practise with. I was in a group with Tilly, Lottie, and two other people who joined in later. I was a little doomed to find Gracie going into a different group than me, but it was easier to do things with fewer people, I suppose. Again, I am really looking forward to the next group!
