Today we made some delicious sushi! I thought there was going to be sticky rice everywhere, ginger staining our clothes, bits of hair stuck in the yummy green seaweed – but no. Mummy chopped up some vegetables with me and William (Tilly was on the computer), and we sprinkled in some salt, sugar and sushi vinegar to make the dressing. (You pour the dressing in the rice.) We also poured some tuna in one bowl and salmon in another. Then we called Tilly down. First Mummy showed us how to do some, and I had the bamboo roll mat while William and Tilly stuck with some chopping boards.
First you lay out your seaweed and get your sticky rice. Spread it out on your seaweed and lay out some fish and vegetables. Then roll up the seaweed over the top of the vegetables. If you have a long seaweed bit, chop it, but if you have you have short squares, you don’t have to.
