22 – 28 May 2017
This week it was very, very hot, and we’ve had lots of days out and playing outside in our summer clothes. Below there’s an animation of us having loads of fun out in the garden doing cartwheels and handstands, and in the background William attempting a backward-roll 😉 If you watch my hair very closely, you’ll notice that I’m doing a cartwheel over and over again, one direction then the other, but I’ve failed a cartwheel, attempted to ‘cartwheel in style’ at the end, and then the video has played me back and forward and back and forward. The hair idea comes from the fact that my hair is moving backwards, which is unnatural and impossible. Also you can watch the space that my hands go in, which is always the same, and also William’s foot, which is moving the same every time as well.
Anyway.
On Monday, we went to our swimming lesson and had loads of fun. Seth, Matilda and Arthur have joined as well, and the first two are in the group just below me and Tilly, so afterwards we can see them and swim-play between the end of the lesson and showering. Of course we could see Arthur too but he usually comes out straight after the lesson before Seth and Matilda do. After the lesson, Annie goes to ballet so our friends and her older sisters Grace and Eve came round to ours while she was out. We played Exploding Kittens in the garden. It was fun!
On Tuesday, we went to Rushmere Country Park with Seth, Matilda and Arthur. We went for a walk in the woods and collected sticks so we poke people on the behind with them, and then we raced from near-the-end to-the-end and I won 😉 When we got out, we went straight to the park and played for hours on the two obstacles in there (we always find a way to make two obstacles (a slide and a single swing) fun, and this way was so unmentionable that.. well, I shan’t mention it).
On Wednesday, we went for a walk in the morning before it got too hot, and decided to go to Wrest Park. We walked round the grounds but we couldn’t really be bothered to go to the park-area because we thought we were going to boil to death. I’d rather not go to the park and not boil to death than to go to the park and then boil to death.
Simple logic, I’m sure you’d agree.
Aha! I’ve found a little bit of track. On Thursday we went to a film-making club. The host was an eighteen-year-old-boy called Cameron, and his sister Mackenzie helped out. Our film’s about a caterpillar called Derek and a koala bear called Brandy, and the plot is so complicated and long that I daren’t tell you what it is until we’ve sorted it out a little. I’ll tell you one thing, though; it’s called ‘DON’T KILL DEREK’. It was really really fun 🙂
Once, some time ago, last year actually, we went to a drama club where I sang ‘Naughty’ on stage. Then we left and now we’ve just joined again! So on Friday we went to drama, and had loads of fun. We’re doing ‘ABBA’ and ‘Michael Jackson’ but it’s easier to call him ‘MJ’ so if anyone wants to know whether the song’s by Michael Jackson or ABBA, we’ve developed this thing where you have to say, “Is this MJ or ABBA?” It’s a lot easier to say, anyhow. I’m going to sing my favourite ABBA song which is the The Winner Takes It All, and me, possibly Elise, possibly Lillian, Matilda and Tilly are going to sing Gimme Gimme Gimme.
After drama, we decided to go to a home-ed park meet, where we saw some more of our friends. ‘Some people’ didn’t seem to be inclined to make new friends and were mean to Tilly (which made me automatically not play with them) so we went and played with our original friends. It was so, so ridiculously hot that we decided to go to our favourite place for a bit instead: IKEA! Seth, Matilda and Arthur came with us. While our mums had a cup of tea, we all drank LOADS of free hot chocolate until we quite literally felt sick. Then we went and had an ice cream. It was brilliant 😉
At the weekend Nanny and Uncle Paul came round. Nanny came to say hello and spend some time with us and Paul came to say hello before… he goes to move in Japan! On Friday he’s going on the plane to go and live there! It’s really exciting! He says he’s going to go and live in Osaka with his girlfriend Maki. It really must be exciting!!
And on Sunday we went to Wrest Park to do Wrest at War. I’ve done a whole new post about that anyway, just CLICK HERE.
