We went to the zoo yesterday. It was all a surprise. I saw lots of shows:
Lemurs
I saw some lemurs. Guess how big the biggest one is? As big as a gorilla! The man told us! Guess how big the smallest one is? As big as your little finger! The man told us that too! Imagine a lemur as big as your little finger! That is called the Mouse Lemur.
We saw the Ring-tailed Lemurs on Lemur Island. They were like cats, just with rings around their tails. Their tails were for wrapping the tail around the lemurs neck, for a scarf, and they use it too keep balence. And, their is something called a stink attack, when they rub their paws all over their tail, (the paws are very stinky, so don't go near those!) and they go near a lemur that has been annoying or something and wag their bum in the lemurs face! The lemurs ran close to us on the fence, because the lady had put food on the stool near there.
Chimpanzees
Guess what Chimps are? Not monkeys… They are… APES! Big old apes. Apes are like humans, just with black and longer fur. We actually have the same amount of hairs they have! One of the Chimps was called Elvis, wanted more food, so he curled he hand up and made his fingers go back and forward and stared at everyone of us!!
European Brown Bears
We saw some Bears. Big as ∞ walnuts, they were. I fed them an apple and a pear, I think it was. Some of the school children were behind the other children and threw the food hard down on the bears back, horrible, it was. Even the first bear that got hit growled!
Elephants
We saw actual Elephants! They were called Kayly, Donna and Emmett. We got to stroke Donna. She was the baby. Kayly was the mum and Emmett was Donna's father. Kayly and Emmett were to big to stroke though. Donna, could even lift one leg up and hold it for at least 1 minute! She felt spiky and the fur wasn't that comfy!
Birds of the World
I saw Sheila, (I think she was a tiny tincy Hawk.) We saw blue and yellow parots, 2, and Green and… No Idea! And we saw 2 types of owls, one actually landed on Mummy's umbrella for 2 seconds! Nanny would be shreeeeeking, "Ooooh! Oh dear! It's coming! God save me! Youuuuuuuu! Graaa! Helllppp!"
Sealion Splash
We saw Sealions. Similar to seals? Yoouuuuuuuuu! Seals can't do anything! Sealionscan do anything! The children got completly wet. Dom, went.. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! All the way to a ball in the air above wate- Splash! Sorry, above water.
Other Animals We Saw and things we did at the zoo
Me and Matilda went backwards like abillian times on the bumpy slide in the indoor play area. We saw Tigers, Lions, Hippos, Camels, Flamengos, Meercats, Rhinos and Cheeters and Penquins. We had sausage and mash and broccily and carrots. Yummmmmmmm.
