The menace of the night was closing in.
We, unsuspecting victims, fell into it,
as into a mass grave lying in wait.
The deep dark void surrounded us,
wrapping us up, never to escape,
until morning came, the amber eye rose
and the sky turned golden bright.
We danced under the sun,
and looked hard into the eclipse,
where night intersected day,
and evil infiltrated good.
And so we waited
until the clouds covered both bodies,
and, suddenly devoid of all influence,
we killed each other there,
and lay in broken blood.
