Starring: Curt Russell
This film documented the true story of ice hockey teacher Herb Brooks, who coached the US team in the 1980 Olympics. Against all odds, the team managed to pull off what is today known as the Miracle on Ice: they defeated the previously unbeatable team of the Soviet Union, claiming the gold medal.
I really enjoyed this film. Sometimes it was a bit confusing as to who was playing against whom, or even who played for which team sometimes! However, the acting was excellent and, from finding out a bit more about the real US hockey team, the cast looked creepily like their real counterparts! Overall, really well done, exciting and engaging and intense, with some good actors too and little to no cheesiness! 🙂
