After having recently finished Herodotus’ Histories, in which he describes the Battle of Thermopylae at length, we decided to watch The 300 Spartans, a modern(ish) retelling of the famous Ancient Greek battle.
I thought this film was actually a little dull – not very exciting at all, in fact, for a well-known adventure/action/fighty fighty film. However, the acting was quite good, and it being the 60s, there were none of those corny scenes that always bring my rating of a film down.
