Starring: Liam Neeson, a few really realistic-looking models of wolves

When a plane carrying a group of oil rig workers crashes over the wilderness of Alaska, the men must work together to fend off an angry pack of wolves whose territory they have unwittingly invaded. Luckily, one of the men, John Ottway, is a wolf hunter who had been sent to the rig to fend off any wolves that might have threatened the lives of the other workers. Ottway assumes the role of the men’s leader, and his knowledge about the behaviour of wolves and how to defend oneself against them comes in very handy – however, it isn’t enough to stop many of the men dying at the wolves’ hands.

I thought this was film was quite good – 4 stars out of 5. It was very intense and dramatic, and was filmed very well; even the wolves, who were of course just models, looked extremely realistic. However, I think it might have made for a more interesting film if there had been other animals trying to kill the men, like bears or even moose. This was simply because, after the sixth death by wolf, it was much less exciting and intense! Still, I thought the acting was great, and it wasn’t cheesy or unoriginal.
