This book was absolutely outstanding – I couldn’t put it down! I was reading it at the breakfast table, reading a page or two while the adverts came on between Ninja Warrior. This morning, when I woke up at seven (presumably so early because my mind was set on Ruby Redfort) I reached out a hand and took up my ‘nook’, the device I read this book on. Then I read and read for an hour, finished off the whole book, and downloaded the next, Feel the Fear, which I then started reading as well.
The book was about a girl called Ruby who worked for a spy agency called ‘Spectrum’. The month’s mystery to uncover was about a wolf by name of ‘The Cyan Wolf’, otherwise known as ‘The Blue Alaskan’. The wolf relied on scent to hunt; one whiff of something that didn’t smell friendly, and the next moment you’re dead. The Blue Alaskan also had its own scent; ‘unfriendly scent’ meant ‘not its own scent’. Some evil perfumers wanted to make lots of money, so they extracted the scent from the Blue Alaskan and attempted to duplicate and sell it for thousands of dollars – that’s where Ruby Redfort came in.
