This book, set in Ancient Roman Britain, follows the journey of Ex-Commander Marcus Flavius Aquila and his freedman Esca, as they set out to solve the mystery of the lost Ninth Legion and their Eagle Standard.
Twenty years ago, the Ninth Legion, proudly holding their Eagle aloft, marched into the mist and never came marching back. Marcus’s father went with that Legion, and Marcus is determined not to let his father or his Legion go down in history with a bad name. So, with his loyal freedman, he sets out on a perilous journey to retrieve the lost Eagle Standard.
I liked this book. It was very well-written. However, sometimes it could get a little bit boring, and it took a little while to get into.
