The Wolves of Willoughby Chase (The Wolves Chronicles, #1)

Rating: 4/5

Bonnie’s father and mother, Lady Green and Sir Willoughby, are out on a trip to help Lady Green’s health. To keep the little girl company, Bonnie’s cousin Sylvia comes to stay. To keep her educated until her parents come home, their new governess (who is related to Sir Willoughby) Letitia Slighcarp comes over to help.

But, as the two young girls discover, Miss Slighcarp and her fellow companion Mr Grimshaw aren’t what they seem. At the beginning, Grimshaw, whose first name is Josiah, seems reasonably nice, and looks after Sylvia on her train journey; but inside, he was only trying to carry on with his plot with Letitia.

Only Simon, Bonnie’s other best friend, can help. With Sir Willoughby and Lady Green out on boat, they haven’t got anything to communicate with, and Dr Morne, the family’s doctor, is turned around on his journey to help the girls by Letitia herself. They are hidden somewhere where nobody but Miss Slighcarp and co. can find them. Read on to find out what happens…

I loved this book, but did often think that you should really read the book before watching the film, as I did. The film is, of course, a bit of a give-away, and is entirely different from the book itself.
