J. and his friends George and Harris decide to escape from Victorian England by having a jaunt up the River Thames. Unfortunately they do not foresee the difficulties and problems that will take place during their little holiday, which Jerome describes in great detail.
This was by far one of the best books I’ve ever read. Amazingly funny, well-written and thought out, Three Men in a Boat has a simple plot, but aside from it Jerome elaborates on the hilarious misfortunes of his and his friends’ pasts. Would definitely read again and am excited to get on to the sequel, Three Men on the Bummel.
